We will explore spring scenes and wildflowers while learning the practical, easy way, to utilize the tools digital photography has brought. This weekend workshop will include both field shooting and "laptop Learning".
There will be opportunity for those who bring their own laptop to practice the digital techniques we learn in the classroom. We will cover topics like RAW processing, getting the most out of difficult scenes with the Shadow / Highlight tool, and sharpening to name a few.
This workshop is perfect for those who are making the transition to digital, or for those who would like to reinforce their skills and learn some new techniques. We will do quite a bit of shooting, and ultimately learn to balance the digital with our creativity.
June 12-19Early Summer on the Rhode Island Coast
The Rhode Island coast is an incredible place to explore the light, texture and lines of the rugged New England coast. We will visit beaches, tide pools, shoreline, lighthouses, and unique coastal buildings. From small critters to grand landscapes, and authentic working harbors, there is an great diversity of subjects within easy walking distance on the laid back Rhode Island coast. We will be staying in Narragannset and traveling along the coast.
As always, first and foremost this is a field workshop, and we will spend the best hours of the day out shooting. When the light is not at its best, we will be in the classroom reviewing and sharing images, working on our digital technique, and exploring new ways of interpreting the landscape.
Tuition is $700, a $100 deposit is due upon sign-up.
October 9-12 and October 12-15Fall Foliage in Southern Vermont 2009
