Every photographer’s dream is to see their images in print. With a simple plan and persistence it can become a reality. This lecture introduces students to the various markets for garden images, techniques for submitting pictures, and what to expect throughout the process. Through visual examples, students see first-hand what makes an image acceptable for publication, and what criteria different markets use to evaluate images. Sharing your personal vision can become a reality once you know how to market your work.

Co-taught with fellow photographer Nancy Rotenberg
Nancy and Raymond have worked together both as teachers and on individual projects, such as the self-publishing of her newest book, an instructional DVD, and several promotional ideas. These creative projects would be used as a spring-board for discussion and for potential marketing ideas. In addition, discussion would include the impact in websites, query letters, contact sheets, digital and traditional technique that bring submissions to the next level.
As for a handout, a PDF document that covers all the topics will be given on CD. This will enable participants to take with them examples of what we covered.
