Fall Foliage in Southern Vermont

Tire swing along a road in Southern Vermont, USA
Southern Vermont is full of great photographic opportunities for capturing fall foliage. This workshop combines some of my favorite locations throughout the Green Mountains National Forest, to provide us with cascading waterfalls, macro leaves, landscapes, and classic New England views. One of the special things that makes this location so great is the diversity of terrain, and change in elevation - so their peak color lasts longer.

We are based out of a fantastic family owned Inn, called the Cooper Hill Inn (http://www.cooperhillinn.com). Our gourmet meals are made just for our group from locally grown organic ingredients by the chef and Inn keeper. This allows us to be on-location for the best of the light, and to make the most of our time in-between shoots.

Our time in Vermont is a balance of field instruction, classroom instruction, and practice. My assistant and I don't shoot during the workshop, so we can be there to help one-on-one. We strive to be out shooting when the light is good, and balance the time when conditions aren't ideal with classroom lessons, supportive image review, and even an occasional break.

Digital techniques like managing your photographic archive, getting the most from RAW images, and giving your images the extra "pop" will be covered during our classroom time. After lessons, we typically have time to set-up personal laptops, and review that day's shoot, in addition to practicing new techniques learned. This hands-on time in the classroom is very important in the learning process because it enables us to analyze what techniques are working, and how we can make images captured more successful.

Tuition for this workshop is $900, and includes all meals during the workshop. A $100 deposit is required upon sign-up.

Rooms are booked on a first come, first serve basis through the Cooper Hill Inn, 1-800-783-3229

The Inn has limited space, for about 12 students, and this workshop fills when the rooms are booked. One of things that makes this workshop so special is the fantastic atmosphere of the Inn, and the opportunity for a small group workshop experience.
