PEEC Fall Weekend

October 22 - 24, 2010

Located in the scenic Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is central to many of the finest scenes in the area. During this intensive weekend workshop, we'll make the most of the light, photographing waterfalls, macro leaves, old barns, and lakes. This area is exceptional for its diversity of subjects, and ease of getting around. All our photo locations are close to the center, and all have well maintained paths to the best features.

Autumn is an incredible time in Eastern Pennsylvania. The leaves will be at their peak color, and we will learn to utilize this color in landscapes, macro, and as color for amazing reflections. The center owned lake often has fog, and we make the most of mornings here, where institute staff model in a canoe for us at sunrise.

This weekend balances time spent in the field where my assistant and I helping participants through one-on-one instruction, and time spent in the classroom, where we teach and reinforce digital skills. Topics like file management and organization, RAW processing, making the most out of Shadows and Highlights, and a simple way to use curves are taught and practiced.

We use creative assignments to help focus on the lessons taught, and review images together in a positive nurturing environment to help everyone develop their talents.

Tuition includes all lodging and food.
